This is a contractual position, which offers some state paid benefits.

RECRUITMENT: The State Highway Administration (SHA) is recruiting an Invoicing Specialist (Administrative Specialist III) in Baltimore City. This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below for this position.

Nature of Work: The Administrative Specialist III will provide the Office of Structures (OOS) Invoicing Section with administrative support for invoice processing which will include but not limited to the following tasks: reviewing consultant invoices, verifying charges, and documenting errors for the review and approval by the Invoice Processing Manager and project/task managers; performing data entry, and tracking contracts and tasks using the Contract Tracking System (CTS). This position will also assist with the financial management of consultant agreements and participate in special projects related to contract administration.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.

Selective Qualification: One (1) year experience in accounts payable as it relates to tracking, verifying, monitoring contracts and processing invoices.

*A selective qualification recruitment is conducted for positions when there is a specific or additional bona fide occupational qualification (i.e., knowledge, skill or ability).


Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
