ISPA is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Business Development to expand our presence in the NCR. The successful candidate will identify, assess, and capture new business opportunities in the IT defense sector, focusing on the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and federal civilian agencies.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong business relationships with customers, demonstrating a deep understanding of the market, and serving as the primary point of contact and representative for ISPA. The Director of Business Development will also be tasked with evaluating corporate capabilities and formulating a business growth strategy that aligns with defined growth objectives.

Job Responsibilities/ Overview:

  • If so, ISPA Technology wants you to join our team as the Director of Business Development in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the NCR, aimed at achieving or exceeding defined revenue growth targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in the IT defense sector, targeting contracts valued between $1M and $25M.
  • Leading and managing capture efforts for major contract opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop winning proposals and innovative solutions that align with our clients' needs and objectives.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers within the DoD, IC, and federal civilian agencies.
  • Develop and present account plans with measurable objectives and progress updates on a quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including technical, program management, and proposal development teams, to ensure alignment of capabilities and resources with growth objectives.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and capture planning to identify potential opportunities and assess the competitive landscape.
  • Lead the development and presentation of strategic capture plans, win strategies, and value propositions for targeted opportunities.
  • Represent ISPA at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations, serving as a brand ambassador and thought leader in the IT defense sector.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, procedures, and reporting requirements related to business development, capture, and proposal activities.

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, IT) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the defense industry.
  • Demonstrated success in capturing and winning contracts valued between $1M and $25M.
  • Strong knowledge of the DoD, IC, and federal civilian agency missions, procurement processes, and key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain a robust network of contacts within the target market.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance, Top Secret (SCI Eligible) preferred.
