Where You'll Work
This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You'll Do
The Director of Conferences and Forums supervises a team, providing thought leadership and oversight for clinical programs. This includes leading the development of strategy and business development for 10-15 forums, 2 conferences and various collaboratives and projects.

  • Collaborate with leadership, internal stakeholders, and member-participants to advance CHA strategic priorities through meaningful and impactful forum and affinity group projects.
  • Identify topics, speakers, and appropriate venues for delivery; communicate with participants to optimize affinity group and CHA engagement; manage contracts and negotiations with external speakers; and manage budgets and expectations.
  • Serve as project-lead by coordinating project plans, participants, and timelines, supporting team success by fostering a collaborative environment to find creative solutions to challenges.
  • Review affinity group clinical curriculums, perform a gap analysis to identify opportunities for enhancement and growth.
  • Manage forum/affinity group screening, enrollment, and participation.
  • Work collaboratively across CHA to connect products and services to participants and to leverage program knowledge to inform collaboration among children's hospitals.
  • Engage and recruit children's hospitals to participate in projects/events.
  • Lead with an understanding of how dynamics, personalities and talents align to build a strong team.
  • Exhibit integrity, build trust and rapport with staff to encourage honest conversations, conflict resolution and the appreciation of diversity, fostering a spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provide clearly communicated expectations while facilitating methods to help team members report progress and evaluate results.

Experience and Skills

What You'll Bring to CHA
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health care or related studies.
  • Master's degree in business, health care or related studies, preferred.
  • Five years of healthcare experience, with a preference for project management and meeting facilitation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple constituencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage individuals and teams.
  • Experience or education in improvement methodology and concepts preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong information and data management skills and understanding
  • Knowledge of software including Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom applications.
  • Ability to travel by car or plane; travel up to 20 to 30% (52 - 78 days per year)
