Suburban Hospital, proudly affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine, is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to join our team as the Assistant Director for Security, Parking, and Transport. This pivotal role oversees the security, parking, and transportation services, ensuring a safe, secure, and accessible environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

*Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and protocols to safeguard all hospital users.

*Manage and optimize parking and transportation systems to enhance accessibility and efficiency.

*Lead, train, and supervise security and transportation teams.

*Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders to maintain security standards.

*Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding security and transportation.

*Collaborate with hospital leadership to support and advance the mission of Suburban Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

  • Bachelors' degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four year college or university preferable in security, criminal justice or business highly desired.

  • Advanced degree in education, law enforcement or security management preferred; administrative certification and school experience a plus.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7-10+ years of progressively responsible related experience in Security, Fire Safety, and Transportation including 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in health care field.

  • Experience in evaluating emergency crisis situations, working collaboratively in and Incident Command and demonstrating leadership in interactions with employees, contractors, public officials, other government agencies and the public, especially during critical emergency incidents.

  • Experience developing, writing, and applying principles and practices of emergency management/preparedness plans including: mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and reunification.

  • Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with diverse groups including educators, stakeholders, emergency management personnel, first responders, legislative/policy staff and community members.

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR, current valid driver's license with clean driving record, required.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Requires effective customer service and organizational skills

  • Requires ability to communicate via documentation, telephone, computer and directly

  • Requires ability to use various computer applications

  • Requires ability to effectively present information to internal and external groups and audiences

  • Requires ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex regulations and documents, financial and business reports, and technical journals

  • Requires ability to work with and apply mathematical, statistical and financial concepts
