Overview
SCCI is currently seeking a Network Administrator to join our team in support of the Surface Combat Systems Training Center (SCSTC). The successful candidate will be maintaining the systems used in the development of training tools for use aboard shipboard systems. These training tools include Aegis Combat Training System (ACTS) scenarios, Advanced Training Domain (ATD) scenarios, Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) scenarios and Computer Aided Submode Training (CAST) lessons. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Install operating systems needed to run the various applications utilized in the Training Tools program
• Maintain and debug the operating systems
• Investigate OS issues
• Add, modify and delete users in Active Directory (Windows platforms) and Network Information System (NIS) for the Red Hat (and the sole Solaris) platforms
• Maintain network structure for Windows users to share common directories (Group and Group2)
• Maintain a Network File System (NFS) that spans platforms (i.e., Red Hat systems and Windows systems can share directories)
• Using symbolic links and NFS mounts, share scenario files for users running on different systems
• Maintain a non-classified network that duplicates a classified network to be utilized for testing purposes and non-classified scenario work

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
• Five (5) years of experience in computer program requirements definition, design, programming, and debug to include computer-based training applications
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and maintaining open-source web-based Learning Management Systems (LMS) utilizing XAMPP on Windows 10 clients with a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 server

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience installing and maintaining VMWare Red Hat 7 virtual machines on Windows 10 systems for the purpose of running ESDS
• Experience installing various versions of ATD on all Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6, 7 and 8 systems
• Experience installing and maintaining Oracle VirtualBox software on required systems
• Experience installing and maintaining exports of Red Hat 5 and 6 systems received from the cognizant LSEA organization used for BFTT scenarios
• Experience monitoring and maintaining open-source web-based LMS using ILIAS running XAMPP on Red Hat Enterprise Linux system
• Experience providing system support for CAST/CAST Open Architecture Suite (COAST) updates
