Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Lead to support the development of an enterprise software application supporting military families.

As a Technical Lead, you will:

  • Be the technical liaison between our software architecture, requirements, and development teams.
  • Work to resolve technical challenges, drive timely delivery, and meet our quality objectives.

A week in the life of a Technical Lead:

  • Lead and mentor web and service layer developers in the design and implementation of web applications.
  • Work closely with the lead architect and a talented team of software, UI, and database developers to define, design, and deliver the militarychildcare.com (do we want to call out the program? An enterprise level mobile first web based) application in an Agile SDLC.
  • Collaborate with Lead Software Architect for the overall software and database development architecture design tasks and activities.
  • Work alongside a dedicated Scrum Master to guide and manage the development team and their priorities.
  • Provide detailed software development support to resolve developer's issues.
  • Work with your team of business analysts, developers and testers alongside key stakeholders of the project to launch products as quickly as possible.
  • Collaborate with other software teams to integrate work into the larger OSD enterprise structure.
  • Provide hands-on-keyboard software development support.
  • Use your technical, managerial, and soft skills to develop and mature a custom software application that supports business process efficiency, situational awareness, and provides decision makers with data driven insights on opportunities to improve operations.
  • Provide stakeholders with progress updates through reporting and meetings.
  • As needed, roll up the sleeves and code application and service components to support the team's work and upcoming deliveries.
  • Be a key player in developing scalable mobile first software to address the customer's growing requirements.
  • Conduct release and sprint kickoff meetings and continually mentor the development team during development cycles to ensure the implementation meets the design and approach defined.
Job Requirements
  • B.S or B.A Degree
  • US Citizenship REQUIRED
  • 8+ years experience in the following:
    • Performing design reviews and code reviews, and provide oversight to ensure the team is on track
    • Integrating third party products and services into the web applications (for example: google APIs, google maps, etc)
    • Utilizing Maven to manage the construction and maintenance of web application packages
    • Designing and developing using TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Angular, React, Rest API
    • Unit Testing web applications, to include both manual and automated testing, use of mock interfaces and data, to validate ion application functionality
    • Utilizing web server application capabilities, including the configuration and maintenance of Apache HTTPD and Apache Tomcat
    • Designing and implementing strategies to improve performance, scalability, maintainability and security of the applications
    • Designing architecture of web applications, or contributing to architecture and application design discussions to understand the overall picture of the application

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $1400,000 - 190,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
