Job Description

Meet Upside:

We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail-profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality-to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We've helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.

Meet Our Account Management Team:

The Fuel Accounts Team supports Upside's largest industry vertical, with over 30,000 merchants across 48 states. We have 4 of the top 10 Fuel Brands as our preferred partners, along with many top U.S. wholesalers, marketers, and convenience store franchise groups. Even as we expand into new verticals, fuel is integral to our growth strategy, new market launch plans, and product development.

The Impact You'll Make:

We're looking for a motivated Senior Account Manager to join our Strategic Accounts Team. You will lead the development of strategic account plans that serve to retain and grow our partnership with some of the fuel and c-store industry's biggest brands. You will develop detailed knowledge of the product, coordinate with internal partners, strengthen client relationships through informative reporting and outstanding service, and ensure clients are always receiving excess value from the Upside platform. As a Senior Account Manager you will collaborate with multiple teams including analytics, product, marketing, and operations to represent the voice of the customer and to help achieve business growth. This role reports to our Senior Director, Account Management.

  • Work with our clients through onboarding to long-term account management, cultivating trust and belief throughout their partnership with Upside
  • Improve retention of accounts through platform education, using customized decks and data in a relevant way to ensure client understanding and participation
  • Proactively predict and address concerns before they advance to churn risk
  • Grow relationships, including supervising and leading account-health metrics (CSAT, Retention, and Growth)
  • Identify and close expansion opportunities, including adding more sites, c-store launches, and conversions to long-term agreements
  • Lead monthly account reviews with merchant partners, interpreting raw account data to build performance reports, case studies, and white papers
  • Proactively maintain account health at multiple levels across client businesses, including senior executives of Fortune 500 companies
  • Collaborate effectively with internal Upside teams, including analytics, product, marketing, and operations, to ensure a consistent, positive experience for our customers

What You Should Have:

  • 7+years of client-facing experience including 4+ years of enterprise experience in technology or retail fuels; Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong public-speaking skills, and the ability to speak to both formal and casual audiences
  • Proven experience exceeding goals
  • Project-management abilities, including timeline management, client communication, and report interpretation
  • Creative demeanor, with a capability to work successfully with both internal and external clients.
  • Strong analytical skills that will translate analysis into relatable and compelling talking points and stories
  • Experience operating sales technology tools (e.g. Salesforce, Outreach, Gong)
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
