The Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a management consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Technical Assistance (TA) Specialist to support projects for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE).

This role will support grantees, schools, postsecondary institutions, and state educational agencies in implementing evidence-informed and innovative strategies and activities to enhance career and technical education programs (CTE) and/or adult education programs. Candidates will join a dynamic team of consultants working together to deliver best-in-class services while expanding our portfolio of clients and projects. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and/or implementing CTE of adult education programs, including demonstrated expertise in grants management, collaborating with school districts, adult education programs, postsecondary institutions, and state education agencies. The ideal candidate will also bring experience in delivering TA to these same stakeholder groups. Effective communication skills a must to be successful in this position.


Job Responsibilities/Duties:
* Serve as a subject matter expert, working with project leadership and the client to establish and enact a vision.
* Work effectively with subject matter experts to translate their expertise and navigate their availability into the development of high-quality products and services for a range of audiences.
* Independently and proactively identify problems, and areas for continuous improvement, and successfully resolve issues or put new processes in place to make those improvements.
* Implement research-informed best practices and policies with diverse community partners nationwide.
* Support project leadership and work independently from vision to final execution.
* Develop technical assistance resources such as papers, reports, manuals, online tutorials, webinars, and resource guides.
* Ensure a high quality of work through strong attention to detail.
* Be comfortable in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment with a proven ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Substantive knowledge of CTE and/or adult education best practices and initiatives
  • Proficient in designing and delivering high-quality, high-impact TA to a range of stakeholders, especially CTE and/or adult education programs and state education agencies
  • Knowledgeable about the projects and activities of OCTAE
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite and willing to learn new technologies
  • Experience in developing proposals, either for federal, state, or foundation
