has a contract opportunity for an Post Production Facility Technician
role with our client in the entertainment industry located in Silver Springs, MD.
- 4-Months (with the possibility of extension)
- Pay Rate: $32.00/hr.
- 100% Onsite
Post Production Facility is an Avid Media Composer environment. The Post Production Facility Technician will assist the Engineering Team in providing frontline support for this infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor equipment and software functionality, and available Avid Nexis storage space
- Support LTO recalls, archiving deliverables and original media, and managing LTO tapes.
- Fulfill Air Check Clip Requests for Ad Sales
- Provide support for occasional media ingest requests from tape source.
- Provide support for videotape tape duplication. Serve as the primary backup for the encoding/duplication technician.
- Assist with connectivity issues in a hybrid remote-work environment to include troubleshooting with Team Viewer, HP Teradici, and Editor stations on site.
- Knowledge of Telestream Vantage, a plus
Qualifications:
- Working experience with common video file formats - QuickTime, MXF, MP4, etc
- A basic understanding of video theory, production, and post production workflows.
- Practical experience in hardware, software and workflow troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of Windows environment. Apple knowledge, a plus
- Avid Media Composer knowledge required. Adobe Premiere experience a plus.
- File creation for screeners/vods/air checks
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot mission critical hardware and software, including but not limited to audio boards, TeamViewer, Telestream CaptionMaker, Telestream Switch, Adobe Media Encoder.
- Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills.
- Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with desire for continuous improvement.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on business issues.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Able to work onsite 40 hours/week
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Education and/or ExpeRience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in media production, engineering or a related field.
