Overview

NovaCare Rehabilitation in Odenton Maryland is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist

Our Odenton MD outpatient center is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for as needed coverage (PRN - per diem). Coverage may extend into our Anne Arundel, PG County and Howard County outpatient centers if you are interested in additional hours. An ideal OT has previous experience in outpatient orthopedics, neuro and upper extremity. CHT is not required for this opportunity. We have a large clinical team in Odenton treating a mix of teens through geriatrics. This is one of our Sports Centers of Excellence also offering; neuro, vestibular, concussion, amputee, oncology, lymphedema, pelvic health, pediatrics, industrial (FCEs and POETs) and fall prevention on top of general ortho.

We can be flexible on the days and hours based on your availability and the needs of our patients. Evenings until 7pm are our busiest time and greatest coverage request. Initial thoughts of coverage are in Odenton two days a week to average 10-15 hours.

Benefits and Incentives: We can discuss your participation in our CEU accrediting courses as they arise during this six-week timeframe. Additional hours as a per diem (PRN) as needed basis may be available post and could lead into steady hours.

Responsibilities
    Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how Occupational Therapists may practice and whom Occupational Therapists may supervise.
  • Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
  • Responsible for the supervision and delegation of occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
  • Enhances, develops, and expands relationships with referral sources and maintains a positive level of interaction with facilities and clients.
  • Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy
  • National registration and state licensure or registration REQUIRED
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Valid state driver's license
