Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for month-end closing procedures, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and analyzing financial data.

This position will be performed from the corporate office in Chantilly, VA five days/week.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries.
  • Perform month-end review of operating unit financial statements.
  • Prepare various monthly account reconciliations.
  • Prepare month-end financial and operational reports.
  • Assist with the quarter-end and year-end financial close and reporting process.
  • Assist with preparation of information for the year-end tax package.
  • Assist other corporate and field departments with general ledger and financial reporting questions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting or related field (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
  • Willing to establish and maintain effective working relationships
