Job Overview

The Quality Control Auditor (QCA) will ensure the organization complies with applicable company and customer requirements including federal, state, and local procedures, codes, regulations and requirements established in customer contracts. The QCA will accomplish this by planning and conducting contract, process, and quality management system audits, as well as inspections of services performed by the company and its subcontractors. The QCA will conduct other QC activities such as corrective action and preventive action, training, continuous improvement, and assessing customer feedback, as needed.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Develops and maintains an audit plan with the Quality Program Manager (QPM) to ensure processes and documentation comply with contractual, company, and other applicable requirements.
  • Conducts audits in accordance with the audit plan and industry standard management system auditing principles and techniques (e.g. ISO 19011, etc.) to ensure processes, services/work, and documentation comply with contractual, company, and other applicable requirements. May lead multi-disciplinary internal audit teams.
  • Develops and maintains auditor training material with the QPM that is consistent with industry standard management system auditing principles and techniques (e.g. ISO 19011, etc.) and conducts auditor training as required.
  • Inspects both work in progress and completed tasks for discrepancies / deficiencies in accordance with the Quality Management System documents (manuals, plans, procedures, instructions, etc.), contract requirements, and other applicable requirements.
  • Inspects work in progress and completed contracted services for discrepancies in accordance with the Quality Management System documents (manuals, plans, procedures, instructions, etc.), defined scopes of work, and other contractual requirements.
  • Identifies and evaluates nonconforming work and services (including contracted services and purchased materials) and issues discrepancies and/or corrective actions as appropriate. In some cases, the assistance of technical personnel or management may be required to adequately evaluate a nonconformity.
  • Initiates corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) process by issuing CAPA requests to the appropriate problem owner (including subcontractors), monitors CAPA for completion, verifies CAPA are adequate to resolve the identified deficiency, updates associated documents and maintains relevant records.
  • Assists staff and subcontractors, as required, in the completion of CAPA by providing clear explanation of findings, providing guidance regarding the CAPA process, and suggesting methods for conducting root cause analysis and/or potential corrective actions to resolve the deficiency.
  • Assists the QPM with the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate Quality Management System measurements focused on industry standard continuous improvement principles.
  • Assists the QPM with the development, implementation and maintenance of Quality policies and procedures designed to ensure customer expectations are defined, understood and effectively achieved.
  • Assists the QPM in developing procedures, instructions, forms, reports, or other documents as required.
  • Assists QPM in preparing for meetings as required, including preparing documents and data, actively attending and participating in the meetings, and recording minutes.
  • Assists QPM in the execution of incident investigations, as required, including the collection of facts, data, artifacts, and other information related to the incident. Develops timelines, completes elements of the incident investigation report, and provides supporting documents.
  • Generates reports of observations, findings, nonconformities, and miscellaneous reports, as required.
  • Provides guidance and direction regarding the Quality Management System, internal and external requirements, auditing practices, and CAPA, including hands on training for QC Inspectors, as needed.
  • Maintains records established to document inspections, audits, and other QC activities.
  • May be required to conduct the QC segment of new hire orientation training.
  • Will be required to operate Government or Chugach owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
  • Will be required to perform various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.
  • Supports other department staff as needed or directed.
  • Assists other trade groups in daily operations where required.
  • Strictly adheres to the established Chugach safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of contractual obligations and customer service.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Five (5) years of work experience in the Quality field OR Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three (3) years of work experience in the Quality field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience and demonstrated high proficiency level using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
