Job Description

The ServiceNow Systems Administrator will be responsible for configuring, administering, and developing the ServiceNow applications such as IT Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Service Management (CSM). This role will work with the Client teams and Business partners to design technical architecture and assist to implement technical solutions that satisfy the business needs. Responsible for supporting, configuring, scripting, and administrating the ServiceNow platform. Participates in the system design and implements configurations to meet program and customer needs.

  • General support, administration and maintenance of ServiceNow platform and associated applications.
  • Good understanding of JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting language
  • Provides direct support to cloud operational environments on a day-to-day basis including the software configuration, upgrades, security patches and planned maintenance as required.
  • Assists in basic analysis including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of information technology tools.
  • Monitors, diagnoses, and resolves problems and performs analysis in relation to ServiceNow configuration in the cloud environment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves basic problems in an efficient manner while adhering to proper escalation and change control procedures.
  • Performs first-level incident response and assures services resolution for ServiceNow systems.
  • Assists in root cause analysis, diagnostics, and monitoring on various production systems.
  • Effectively creates and maintains relevant systems documentation and user guides.
  • Monitors health, usage, security status and overall compliance of the ServiceNow systems.
  • Interacts with external technology vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
  • Applies scripting methodologies to automate related tasks.
  • Responds timely to user requests for permission changes, and ServiceNow out-of-the-box configurations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • ServiceNow Certified Admin certification is preferred, else must be attained within 90 days of employment.
  • 0-3 years of experience working with infrastructures and 0-1 years of experience with vendor cloud platforms.

Other Job Specific Skills

  • Applies standard methodology, techniques, procedures and criteria. Proven experience implementing systems with Agile/Scrum methodology and/or System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software application related problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage expectations in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of Service Provider and/or Cloud providers.
  • Cloud command line scripting skills.
  • Documentation skills to include creating and updating detailed environment design, installation, and support documentation.
  • Good communication, project & priority management, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience using JavaScript, XML, MySQL, and HTML.
  • Knowledge of information life-cycle management concepts and best practices
