Job Description

Venable LLP's Technology & Innovation Group seeks a Privacy Program Manager, Escalations to join the Venable Blue team in the Washington, D.C., New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles office. This is a non-attorney position.

The Privacy Program Manager, Escalations will work closely with a team of stakeholders from policy, legal, product, and public relations to respond to incoming regulatory and media inquiries. The Privacy Program Manager, Escalations will lead a team of Privacy Escalation Analysts and help manage incident-related investigative processes to minimize client exposure. They will work on various special projects such as work with stakeholders to develop processes and policies designed to better protect customer privacy. The work of the Privacy Program Manager, Escalations will be fact-moving, exciting, changing, and evolving.

Key responsibilities include:

Privacy Safeguard Development:

  • Work and manage relationships with cross functional teams to develop privacy related safeguards.

Privacy Program Management:

  • Define scope and requirements, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations for program and operational execution.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of business processes for all aspects of established safeguards.
  • Understand adjacent operational processes that impact safeguards and adjust processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with multiple cross functional stakeholders to both develop and implement these safeguards.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree; Master's degree (or equivalent) preferred
  • 7 - 10 years of minimum work experience in high profile settings, such as presenting to leadership and driving cross-functional teams
  • Excellent project management skills to both stand up and implement privacy and policy programs
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience with and an understanding of the online privacy and cybersecurity arena
  • Hands-on operational privacy experience in online tech sectors highly valuable, combination of private and government experience acceptable
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for both VP-level stakeholders as well as mid-level stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct gap analysis on current systems and processes
  • Executive presence and ability to lead, manage, or coordinate cross-functional teams across numerous stakeholders at any given time
  • Critical thinking and ability to perform well under pressure and ambiguous situations
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs is required

The salary range for Privacy Program Manager, Escalations positions is $160,000 - $200,000 per year. This is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
