Job Description

Responsible for assisting patients with mobility task and therapeutic walks per provider order and under the direction of nursing. Also support clinical teams with safe patient handling and mobility knowledge and performance.

  1. Providing and prioritizing therapeutic walks per early mobility program.
  2. Provides patient education and ADL's when deemed competent
  3. Establishes an open line of communication with staff regarding patient condition and performance
  4. Adheres to infection control standards
  5. Responds effectively in an emergency situation to address the patient's immediate needs

Documents patient care following departmental policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

* 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in related field (Required)

BLS Certification (Required)

Exercise Specialist Cert-ACSM (Preferred)

  1. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills with patients, visitors and other healthcare team members to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality of patient care
  2. Strong written communication skills
  3. Basic computer skills -ability to learn and navigate the electronic medical record.
  4. Excellent organizational skills
  5. Ability to comply with policies and practices regarding safe handling of patients
