Reports To: ARMADA HQ

Security Clearance Required: Top Secret - SCI with the ability to pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph

Travel Required: 10% Annually

SIGN ON BONUS: $3K for qualified applicants

Place of Performance:

The main duty location is at the Defense Logistics Operations Center (DLOC), and the surrounding Washington, DC metropolitan area/National Capital Region (NCR). This duty location may be relocated depending on the needs of the Government. In addition, personnel may be required to travel as part of a Mobile Training Team (MTT) to various locations worldwide to present full versions of the courses identified and yet to be developed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deployment Instructors/Subject Matter Expert (SME) shall be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and shall be able to speak clearly enough to instruct, evaluate, and counsel students in the subtle and difficult concepts of the subject matter.
  • Instructor/Subject Matter Expert (SME) personnel shall be familiar with the Instructional System Design (ISD) process to assist in the analysis, objective writing, evaluation, design, development, facilitation techniques, and maintenance of course materials, lesson plans, and practical exercises.
  • Instructor/SME personnel shall know how to engage in research and analysis to maintain subject matter currency and relevancy to contribute to the updating of course materials and documentation.
  • Instructors/SME shall be required to complete necessary instructor training to be certified as an instructor by DIA.
  • Instructor/SME personnel may conduct training needs assessments and participate in course evaluations to measure the extent to which the training improved student's knowledge and performance on the job.
  • Instructor/SME personnel shall evaluate student performance using verbal and written formats in accordance with established course standards and procedures.
  • Instructor/SME shall maintain a level of professionalism by dressing appropriately, displaying a can-do attitude, and teamwork.
  • Instructor/SME personnel may serve as a course manager or lead instructor for one or more assigned courses.
  • In coordination with DoD supervision, Instructor/SME personnel may be required to maintain contact with subject matter experts in order to anticipate changes that may affect training materials.
  • Instructor/SME personnel may represent the organization at training conferences and meetings at the direction and approval of the Government.
  • In addition to traditional classroom instruction, instructors shall be required to perform somewhat strenuous physical activity, both indoors and outside, to support the setup and tear down of course capstone exercises.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of Tactical Combat Casualty Care techniques, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to instruct on the following topics:
    • Risk Management
    • Basic mission planning
    • Active shooter response
    • Operational stress management
  • Experience or knowledge of curriculum design, lesson plan development, and training delivery is a plus
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and presentation skills is highly desired
  • Ability to use computer software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, and email.
  • Possess excellent organizational and file management skills and the ability to plan and execute administrative work with little supervision


Minimum/General Experience:

  • 5 years of military experience with one or more deployments to combat zones and/or hostile areas of responsibility (AORs).
  • Have an instructor certification from a reputable source
  • Instructional systems design training is highly desired
  • 5 years of experience teaching Tactical Combat Casualty Care, or civilian equivalent, and must have familiarity with the other topics taught in the DIA Deployment Qualification Course (DDQC)
  • Shall be required to lift up to 75 pounds, wear body armor, and perform basic tactical movements
  • Operate equipment such as pyrotechnic simulator, rollover simulator, and other special effects for mass casualty events and situational training exercises.
  • Support mobile training teams (lift and carry specialized equip, rent vehicles, travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations).

Minimum Education:

  • BS/BA in a related field preferred but not required.
