Job Description

Sayres, a leading provider of defense support services to the DOD, is currently seeking an experienced Maritime Hull, Mechanical & Engineering (HME) Advisor with SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS.

As a key member of our team, you'll leverage your small boats, vessels and craft expertise in hull, mechanical, and engineering systems to ensure efficient operations and maintenance procedures to support the PMS 300/325 contract. This position can be supported remotely or based in Washington, DC and will have ongoing travel TDY to Panama. Travel requirements may be discussed upon interview.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of equivalent experience in hull, mechanical, and engineering systems supporting Small boats, vessels and crafts.
  • Or 10+ years of experience with maritime engineering / maintenance procedures, maintenance management, and supply at the Unit- or Intermediate-level
  • Required, including training in Maintenance Management Course, Maintenance Leaders Course, Joint Logistics Course, Logistics Readiness Officer, Logistics and Life Cycle Management, Supply Chain Management, and as a Port Engineer Officer or equivalent courses.
  • 5+ years of experience with working in a maintenance organization, including supervising individuals performing maintenance tasks or conducting maintenance training with small boats, vessels and crafts.
  • 5+ years of experience with management in an organization supporting military maritime maintenance and logistics operations.
  • Experience in troubleshooting OEM maintenance software adoption/utilization, data collection & reporting, and resource management / sustainment for routine, periodic, and corrective maintenance actions.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Latin America.
  • Fluency in Spanish in professional and technical environments, including speaking, writing, reading, and listening at a level equivalent to a Foreign Service Institute 3/3 or DLPT 2+/2+/2+.
  • Secret clearance verifiable in DISS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-4 in the U.S. Coast Guard or U.S. Navy
  • Two (2) years of experience in establishing and institutionalizing service level maritime maintenance and logistics programs and processes inclusive of the management structure, procedures, and skills necessary to develop maintenance plans and logistics requirements,
