Summary:

The ASPCA Membership team oversees the systems, content, and communications that engage ASPCA members, potential members, and donors. The Membership team is seeking a Senior Salesforce Administrator that will support the fundraising efforts of the Development Department by leading the configuration, customization, and day-to-day operations of ASPCA's Salesforce Customer Relationship Management platform.

The Senior Salesforce Administrator will report to the Senior Director of Database Strategy, working closely with outside developers, external partners, and internal stakeholders. Utilizing an in-depth knowledge of Salesforce, the person in this role will be a subject matter expert of our existing system and utilize their knowledge to advance our overall business goals.

This remote-based position is open to all candidates based within the United States.Candidates based within commuting distance of New York City will be expected to work a hybrid schedule from our New York City 8thAvenue Office.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

Database Administration (70%)

  • Lead daily administration and support of the Salesforce.com platform database, including managing user roles and profiles, security settings, sharing rules, etc.
  • Configure, enhance, and maintain standard and custom Salesforce functionality, including but not limited to user management, the creation of custom reports and report types, complex dashboards, objects, quick actions, validation, workflow and assignment rules, flow, email alerts and approval processes.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy annual release upgrades and ensure successful implementation of the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) upgrade in post-production by addressing any issues that arise.
  • Lead the organization, execution, and prioritization of configuration requests that support business priorities and initiatives from across the organization
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of the standard capabilities of Salesforce.com (SFDC) and successfully expand on those capabilities using custom code as needed (Apex, visual force pages, lightning components, lightning design system)
  • Research and propose ongoing improvements in the Salesforce instance regarding new Salesforce feature functionality.
  • Audit, uncover, and resolve data quality issues. Regularly perform database de-duping and cleanup procedures
  • Lead and troubleshoot integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems.
  • Manage and execute proactive system maintenance, including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer

Support & Training (30%)

  • Develop and lead training programs to ensure Salesforce capabilities are used effectively and consistently across all teams.
  • Keep up to date on new Salesforce and 3rd party application products, features, and functionality to recommend and apply improvements to internal business challenges.
  • Advise on ad hoc projects as needed, including long-term planning of data usage, architecture within Salesforce, and solutions that support and complement the CRM.
  • Maintain and create database documentation on procedures, triggers, workflows, and end-user guides.

Qualifications:

  • Experience building on the Salesforce Lightning platform and/or familiarity with SalesforceDX is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Salesforce AppExchange and installation or removal of third-party run or unmanaged packages is a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceCloud and Marketing Cloud is required.
  • Understanding of release management processes, GitHub and continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required. Proficient with SOQL
  • A team player with a collaboration-oriented mindset is essential.
  • Experienced in thriving within fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain agility in response to department priorities and needs.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience managing large volumes of data and working with a Data Warehouse.
  • Strong Salesforce product knowledge

Compensation & Benefits:

The applicable target hiring range for this remote role is based on where the employee works, which for remote roles is the employee's primary location of residence, and its respective cost of labor. We have organized the U.S. varying costs of labor index into three geographic zones. As a point of reference, below, we have included our ASPCA locations by geographic zone to illustrate what the hiring range would be in each of the following areas.

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring rangeis for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiringsalary ranges for this role are set forth below and may be modified in the future.

  • Zone 1 (For example, Asheville, NC; Champaign, IL; Columbus, OH; Gainesville, FL; Miami, FL; Oklahoma City, OK; Overland, KS; Union, MO; Weaverville, NC): $95,000 - $101,000 annually

  • Zone 2 (For example, Washington D.C.; Los Angeles, CA): $106,000 - $112,000 annually

  • Zone 3 (For example, New York, NY): $117,000 - $124,000 annually

Education and Work Experience:

High School Diploma (Required)

4+ years of working experience in Salesforce Administration (across sales, marketing, and service functions), Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, Certified Salesforce Administrator strongly preferred, Experience assisting or leading Salesforce Implementation, Experience leading technical implementation, day-to-day operations, and long-term maintenance of Salesforce at the enterprise level, Experience with Business Intelligence tools preferred, Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) required, NPSP experience a plus
