Job Description

Position Objective:

Provide food services at hospital-sponsored functions, including meetings, seminars, and conferences.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Sets up food and service supplies in hospital meeting rooms as scheduled. Uses a variety of manual and electric food preparation equipment in accordance with all established guidelines.
  2. Coordinates changes in function arrangements with cooks and purchasing agent.
  3. Prepares food for special functions. Uses a variety of manual and electric food preparation equipment in accordance with all established guidelines.
  4. Maintains records for all special functions each month.
  5. Prepares and serves food for patient or cafeteria meals as the needs of the department dictate.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Demonstrable ability to read, write, and make simple calculations using a variety of methods, and to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be available for occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Two years' food service experience required.

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands -

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
