The mission of the Holton-Arms School is to cultivate the unique potential of young women through the "education not only of the mind but of the soul and spirit." Founded in 1901 by two visionary women, Holton-Arms continues to cultivate a diverse, inclusive and equitable school community, to tend to the health and wellbeing of its members, and to build a global curriculum that responds to the learners in our classrooms and the world. The Holton-Arms School seeks a collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic Pianist to serve as part-time musical accompanist for our choral program, joining our robust Performing Arts team. The Music program provides students with the opportunity to develop a foundation in the many and varied qualities of musicianship that will enable them to be successful in all of their musical pursuits. In addition to developing their technical skills and understanding, students learn to take creative risks, to think critically, and to work collaboratively. In exploring music from a wide range of cultures and traditions, students deepen their interest in and sensitivity to the communities of people who created it. Candidates must have experience accompanying choral groups and working with Lower, Middle and/or Upper School students. All aspects of Holton-Arms programming help develop students' competencies around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Social Emotional Learning and Global Education. These competencies are integral to the music program. Qualified candidates will be asked to continue and expand upon our work in these areas. The music program seeks to create a space where students feel prepared to take risks, grow, and deepen their understanding of themselves, others, and their world.
