Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Essential duties include: Patient documentation; Direct patient care/assessment; Medication administration; Discharge planning, community resource referral and education; Actively participates in the quality improvement process. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers. LK60 is a 21 bed Telemetry unit that specializes in complex medically acute patients and infectious disease (ID). Our patients are admitted from home, outside hospitals or the ED. We also receive a significant number of patients from the MICU. We care for a wide variety of diagnosis. Our patient population helps develop strong assessment skills, critical thinking skills and exposure to a variety of nursing procedures. LK60 has developed some very strong nurses who have continued their careers in the ICU, Women's Health and Pediatrics.
