Licensure Specialist I (One Year Only)

Gatehouse Administration Center

Description

Performs a variety of professional and technical duties to review and process newly hired teacher licensing transactions and ongoing license renewals; manages employee records maintenance, document retrieval, and document retention; analyzes transcripts to determine if employment requirements are compliant with regulations and policy; develops and presents professional education materials; audits data to ensure licensing history accuracy; creates and produces query reporting for data analysis.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in business, finance, human resources or related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively more responsible human resources or related experience, some of which shall have been in the field of the position.
  • Knowledge of the theory, procedures, and practices of one or more of the fields of human resources.
  • Knowledge of VDOE and VBOE licensing policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to the needs and requirements of a public school system.
  • Ability to conduct research and collect documentation independently.
  • Ability to plan and conduct professional development activities.
  • Ability to assist with the development and or modification of policies and regulations.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with prospective employee candidates and personnel assigned to schools, other departments, and community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Experience in talent acquisition management.

Salary Range

$68,138 - $115,949
