Job Description

LCG is seeking a dynamic Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist to join our growing marketing team in the DC area. While the position is remote, candidates should reside in the DC area to join staff for infrequent in-person meetings. The Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist reports to the Director, Marketing & Communications and performs the following tasks.

Social Media:

    • Develop a comprehensive Social Media Strategy Planfor key LCG accounts.
    • Create original, high-quality content by using preapproved language and imagery or present new content for the supervisor's review.
    • Analyze performance and develop the Quarterly Social Media Performance Report.

Website Development:

    • Analyze current website, survey key staff, and present improvement recommendations to supervisor.
    • Work with supervisor on finalizing content based on executive team direction, branding guidelines, and team goals.
    • Create and implement task timelines; report progress in weekly staff meeting and monthly written report of activities.
    • Work with IT staff as needed to test and publish website updates.
    • Maintain website health and improve SEO results.

Digital Marketing:

    • Analyze SEO results, make recommendations for improvement, and implement updates.
    • Develop SEM goals, propose budget, gain plan approval, and manage campaigns.

Other duties as assigned in support of internal and external communications and marketing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, media or related field.
  • Two years of experience in social media marketing to include the management of professional social media accounts for high-profile programs, brands, or government entities.
  • Two years of experience in website development to include creating original content, editing SMEs, keywords, structure, sitemaps, approvals, mock-ups, wireframes, prototypes, testing, fixing bugs, production, publishing, maintenance, updates, blogs, SEO, and SEM.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing strategic communications and digital engagement strategies in a consultative manner.
  • Experience developing social media content and tactics with flexible attitude and willingness to incorporate occasional emergent messaging with accuracy.
  • Experience identifying and recommending compelling social media content that will help achieve goals and increase engagement
  • Experience developing digital and social engagement reports and briefs for management.
  • Expert in social media and scheduling platforms, e.g., Hootsuite, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, Snapchat.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Google Analytics, and HubSpot or similar CRM
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare, public health, research, technology, and government agencies.
  • Experience with digital engagement strategy and experience advocating for targeted digital engagement.
  • Capabilities in video editing, live hosting, and podcast production.
  • Experience developing high-quality presentations for events and speaking engagements.
  • Experience with communications theory and policy.

The specialist is able to relate to and learn from all levels of the organization, is comfortable sharing knowledge and rationales, has a consultative nature, and a strong, internal work ethic.
