Overview

LMI, a strategic consulting organization focused on the federal government, is seeking a Application Testing Project Lead experienced in working with complex and multi-discipline teams, extensive knowledge and management of test scripts, application life cycle timelines, and meeting strict deadlines. The Application Testing Project Lead will manage pre-release and SIT testing for the client and consult with both government program, contractor project managers and application developers to set testing expectations, timelines, and acceptance criteria. The Testing Project Lead will also be expected to maintain notes, backlogs, defect tracking, enhancement requests, and continuous improvement plans to ensure test findings are acted on and remediated. Candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills' in partnering with other groups. Requires medium to advanced knowledge of project scheduling and IT tracking tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, VersionOne, ALM).

Responsibilities
    Create and manage the SIT testing timeline, resource requirements, and the execution of the tests
  • Develop and maintain a testing strategy for the project to meet stakeholder objectives
  • Identify critical testing scope and criteria
  • Assign responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise
  • Validate test scripts, system functionality, and expected results of testing events
  • Ensure business requirements and potential defects are incorporated into testing scenarios while documenting enhancements being requested throughout the process
  • Create and manage ongoing defect tracker to ensure intended functionality is accomplished
  • Evaluate performance and report on project status to appropriate stakeholders
  • Create and coordinate testing timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate potential testing schedule delays and/or risks; provide solutions to mitigate delays or risks once identified
  • Participate in design meetings to understand application requirements and design goals
  • Provide written and verbal impact analysis of timeline changes and potential risks
  • Develop and report testing performance and metrics on appropriate tracking software (e.g. Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, VersionOne, ALM)
  • Conduct team meetings to coordinate and resolve issues
  • Review test scenarios created by the test team
  • Continually review and improve the testing processes and tools used
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members
  • Ensure testing policies, standards, and best practices are being followed
  • Coordinate with other external acceptance testing activities
  • Ensure all testing deliverables are met
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of application lifecycle testing, development, or IT management experience and a Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, or a related field
  • Understanding and knowledge of End to End testing within the SIT testing environment
  • Experience creating and managing test scripts, defect and enhancement tracking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to identify and effectively solve complex problems
  • Ability to tailor communications to a specific audience to ensure appropriate content is shared at various levels of the organization
  • Experience working with multi-vendor teams
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to pass a USPS background investigation
