CWC is looking for a strong leader who is motivated and quality-oriented to join our Marketing & Communications Team. The Pursuit Manager's role is pivotal in securing new business opportunities by managing the development of high quality, compliant, compelling, and persuasive proposals that showcase the company's expertise and value to potential clients. This role encompasses collaborating with essential stakeholders and actively supporting the organization's growth objectives by leading pursuit processes and teams, communicating with conviction, share creative ideas, and maneuvering a competitive, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for the built environment and a drive to succeed.

This is an immediate opening for a full-time Pursuit Manager in Bethesda, Maryland.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversight of pursuit activities, including leading pursuit teams; managing proposal schedules and deadlines; developing proposal outline; and partnering with the Senior Pursuit Manager to monitor the progress of the proposals. Delegate tasks as needed.
  • Leads and writes qualification packages, proposals and leave behind material or project specific landing pages for pursuits and interviews.
  • Collaborates with operational staff and writes/reviews/edits original content for clarity, compliance, and key messages.
  • Organizes and facilitates pursuit meetings (kick-off, reviews, check-ins, final page flip).
  • Participate in strategy sessions with the larger pursuit team to develop win strategies and determine relevant content to articulate in all deliverables throughout the capture process.
  • Conduct market research to learn about stakeholders involved in active pursuits and apply knowledge to influence the quality of the proposal(s).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and perform independent research to create technically accurate, informative, and creative proposal responses, including resumes and proposal content.
  • Provide quality control reviews to all deliverables produced by other contributors,
  • Participate in win/loss debriefs and record feedback to apply to future pursuits.
  • Oversee the maintenance and quality of the pursuit content library.
  • Maintain current knowledge of historical projects completed, projects under construction, and capabilities to assist in proposal preparation.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of CWC company history, services, competitors, and market sectors.
  • Oversee and manage content auditing & historical data capture, ensuring the Pursuit Coordinator effectively executes the content auditing and historical data capture utilizing the internal CRM, Dynamics, and other internal tools.
  • Attend and participate in all Marketing & Communications Strategic Planning meetings and complete all assigned goals.
  • Work with the Business Development team to improve client engagement and develop strong business relationships.
  • Attend industry educational and networking functions as appropropriate.
  • Position may include special projects and assisting with miscellaneous Marketing & Communications activities.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Strongly Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a Construction/Design related field; or
  • 5 years of technical writing or proposal experience within AEC marketing required.
  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, including ability to handle multiple, simultaneous deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated self-starter; analytical; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High sense of urgency and willingness to take initiative.
  • Possess a positive "can do" attitude and always maintain professional attire and behavior.
