The Inova Health System is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Dietitian to provide nutrition support, counseling and education to some of patients serving as the expert resource to our Community Health division, specifically Inova Cares for Women and Children, Inova Juniper Program, and Childhood Obesity Prevention Program - The Healthy Plate Club. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive, enriching ambulatory medical setting. The position is primarily located in Falls Church, VA. This position is fulltime Monday - Friday role. Bi lingual is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a comprehensive assessment by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data and synthesizing their interrelationships and formulate an individualized nutrition plan of care based on the assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- Anticipates nutritional intervention issues, monitors patient tolerance to nutrition therapy and responds when standards of nutrition care recommend changes.
- Coordinates the nutrition care plan with the physician and other healthcare providers while serving as a resource in the integration of the nutrition care plan into the comprehensive plan of care for the patient.
- Communicate with both the healthcare team members, patients and families to maximize patient outcomes as well as collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to incorporate that knowledge into the nutrition plan of care
- Incorporates research findings into nutrition practice standards, develops/revises patient education programs and participates in the development and revision of patient education materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Dietetic Internship or equivalent
- Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) upon start
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 3 months
