Job Description

Provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems. Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough and practical.

Responsible for:

  1. Planning and maintaining project budget and schedule.
  2. Planning and maintaining Manpower forecasts in relation to budget and schedule.
  3. Planning and monitoring cash flow against cash expenses.
  4. Establishing labor and productivity rates.
  5. Identifying value added solutions and cost saving methods.
  6. Pricing, tracking and managing change orders.
  7. Identifying change orders and ensuring effective resolution.
  8. Maintaining as-builts as work is completed.
  9. Documenting project issues/conditions.
  10. Maintaining organized and detailed project records.
  11. Submitting hours and cost codes.
  12. Planning and executing project completion and punch list.
  13. Preparing specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  14. Preparing invoices.
  15. Submitting O&M manuals.
  16. Completing a comprehensive estimate.
  17. Running a KPR (Key Project Review).
  18. Developing a Safety Plan.
  19. Running day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
  20. Managing design development logs and criteria compliance matrix.
  21. Managing coordination & detailing logs & schedule.
  22. Managing schedule updates.
  23. Managing productivity reports.
  24. Identifying value added solutions & cost savings methods.
  25. Being a major participant in Project Kick Off Meeting (PKOM) process.
  26. Assisting in Field Inspections / productivity tracking.
  27. Gaining knowledge and assisting with the Materials Requisition System.

Education

  1. 5-7 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably from an ABET accredited program)
  2. 3-5 years of experience with a MS/MS
  3. Professional Engineer License, preferred

Physical Abilities

  1. Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  2. Sitting for extended periods of time.
  3. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  4. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  5. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  6. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  7. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  8. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  9. Identify and understand the speech of another person.
